Week long workshop
Hand-stitching allows a person to carve out time and space for introspective reflection. In this workshop, you will create small hand-stitched studies by taking inspiration from your own thoughts & observations. We will use techniques to bring forth meaningful stitches and marks onto fabric. Prepare to enjoy free-form doodling, walking, listening to music, and use basic sewing techniques to delve into your own hand-stitching practice. Students are encouraged to bring a small sampling (2-4) of their own stitched items to share with the group
Must know a few basic stitches. At the minimum: Running stitch.
If you want to do other stitches please practiced several weeks BEFORE the workshop, for example: French knot and Stem stitch. Both of these simple stitches are nice, but do require a little practice and need more time than what is covered in class.
