Location: Bolt & Spool
Start the new year with a luxurious morning of mindful and meditative hand-stitching.
Join like-minded creatives at Bolt & Spool as I’ll guide you through a morning of exercises to engage with slow hand stitching in a meaningful and contemplative manner. This may include music, doodling and just exploring the simple beauty of thread stitched marks and lines on linen.
You will work with and take home the following:
Two 10" squares of Merchant & Mills European Linen
One vial of Tulip Hiroshima embroidery needles
Several meters of Soie d'Alger silk embroidery floss in muted tones pre-sorted on a thread drop
One 6" German polished beechwood embroidery hoop
One pair of petite stainless steel embroidery scissors
One "Ultimate Marking Pencil"
One A5 blank wirebound notebook and pencil
Three hours with Christine Mauersberger (but you can't take her home)
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a selection of morning treats.
Maximum class size is 10.
Must know a few basic stitches. At the minimum: Running stitch.
If you want to do other stitches please practiced several weeks BEFORE the workshop, for example: French knot and Stem stitch. Both of these simple stitches are nice, but do require a little practice and need more time than what is covered in class.
