Summer has been filled with family and making art.
While I don't have my own children, my siblings and other family members have plenty of children to fill a pool. We're talking double digit numbers of children.
Here are just a few images of us laughing and hugging.
I'll post about my newer work next.
My great nieces and I started a summer tradition about 7 years ago where they spend time with me having "art days".
Here we are at Edgewater for the Thursday evening beach party.
When the girls and I were walking home from the park, we saw a group of people who were seated on the hill. We wondered why they were quiet, why they seemed to be involved in something outside our understanding. Was it a flash mob? Did they observe the setting sun and then turn towards the blue moon?
The girls begged me to ask someone, but I said, "let's make up a story of our own".
I've written Thomas and bb G here. They both have Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which is the number one genetic killer of babies under the age of 2. We did weekend trips with them and their parents to Chicago and Pittsburgh this summer.
I breaks our hearts to know that they cannot walk and have a multitude of medical problems. But, they are both super smart and CAN do many things.
August is SMA awareness month. If you don't already donate to a good cause, please consider sending your heart felt donations to
George on left and Thomas, right. Two delightful boys whose lives reminds me that I don't have any problems.
