Mid summer stitching at Shakerag

We had a great week at Shakerag in June. What a terrific group of women. I've omitted last names in these photos.

Author of her recently published book, Stan Went Fishing, Nancy had just read a story then she and  Judith  shared a good laugh.

Nancy Dorrier read while we stitched. This is my new favorite activity to incorporate in my classes. Now...how to have Nancy travel with me???
Many other pictures of sewing and sharing throughout the week.

Participants from other workshop classes admire our finished works.

WHERE?

The location couldn't easier if you live in Italy, Germany, or Switzerland (or the UK!)
Mugena (Alto Malcantone) is situated at an altitude of 840 m, well away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is particularely suitable for people who are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay.

The Hotel Il Castagno offers unique rooms. All are well-furnished and airy. The surroundings (there are lots of chestnut trees) invite you for short and longer walks.

We will spend 4 days stitching, eating good food, taking in the mountain air and views, and delve into Discovering a Mindful Stitching Practice.  For more information and to enroll, please click HERE.

Summer events part 1

Hello there.  This is the first of 3 posts I've written about where I've been lately... Enjoy!

I'm excited to tell you about the workshop I conducted in early June this year.
First I taught "Spontaneous Hand stitching" for Fiber577 at the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg, Ohio. The location couldn't have been better, it's located right on the Maumee river where the house, barns, cottage, orchard, etc all all kept in pristine condition under the careful watch of the Foundation employees and volunteers to help take ecological care of the land and fosters exploration, experimentation, personal enjoyment and creativity in education.

I taught in the cottage where we had a kitchen, nice workshop space and cool and comfortable sitting area. It was a fairytale location with a stellar group of women.

On Friday evening I gave a lecture in the library of the main house. There was a sold out crowd of 50. The entire staff at the 577 Foundation is fabulous and spend a great deal of time and care to make sure every detail is covered. I'd teach there again in a heartbeat.
