Small stitched work on grey wool using silk, cotton, and metallic thread. 2014
I'm going to teach 2 short workshops.
A three-day on September 9,10, and 11, and a 2-day on September 12-13.
In both workshops, I'll share my method for finding inspiration and interpreting the inspirations into ones' own hand-stitched marks. We'll discuss the tools I use and how to decide which needle, thread, and fabrics to use. And I'll tell talk about other tidbits and processes for creating your own productive stitch practice. I encourage participants to bring a few samples of their own work to show and talk about.
On September 14, 2016, I'll present a lecture about how my carefully placed stitches are a balance point for meaning in life and art.
Registration opens tomorrow, June 20, 2016.
Maiwa tells me most classes fill within the first hours the workshop registration goes live online.
