A few months ago, I kept finding straw-colored seed heads, quite literally at my feet. I didn't know where they came, at least not from the tall grasses in my yard. I collected them and there they sat in a box at my back door.
I used google image search to find the identification.
Weeping Love Grass, Eragrostis curvula
2 weeks ago started using them in my printmaking and found that the delicate nature of the grass head looked sweet and lovely and if I swirled them around a bit, they looked like nests.
Not looking more than 10 or so feet around me. I thought that the winds blew these delicate beauties my way.
Well they did, all the way from my neighbors yard.
I texted my neighbor to ask whether I could cut some of the stems.
and now I have a new box of seed heads
Waiting to become Love Nest prints
